What others have said about this hotel:

  • I have stayed at thei hotel several times. I love staying here. The rooms are clean, with shower or bath and the prices are very affordable. The breakfast is nothing special, but at least a croissant is involved. The location is great. The rooms which overlook the street offer a quintessential view of Paris streets.

  • Our group occupied 3 rooms in Sept 1995 for about a week. we found the rooms to be clean but small. The price reasonable. The service was courteous and good. The street noises were sometimes bothersome, but the location was close enough to Metro and bus stops, and there were many good restaurants nearby.

  • Stayed at Familia in January 1999 and would return The breakfast is a good value for the area; served promptly in a pleasant sitting room or privately to your chamber. Our room on the 6th floor looked across the rooftops to Notre-Dame. We especially appreciated the hand-painted mural. The room was attractive and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and functional. Good bargain.

  • We stayed at the Familia on our first trip to Paris ... they were ready for us when we arrived ... spoke English ... even sent breakfast to my room the first morning when I awoke with an upset stomach. I've recommended them many times and everyone has been pleased.

  • Nice small hotel. Our room was small but clean and very quiet. The service was warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel is just a short walk from Notre Dame and the Sorbonne. All-in-all a delightful place to stay in the Latin Quaerter.

  • I stayed in Hotel Familia with my husband in May 1998. The service was friendly & nice, rooms clean & the rates very reasonable for Paris. The location is very good, close to many attractions. I highly recommend

  • I stayed 10 days at the Familia and enjoyed my stay very much, thanks to the warm welcome and courteous service of Monsieur Eric and his staff. The rooms are small but confortable, and the location, a short walk from the Seine and Notre-Dame, is excellent.

  • My wife and I stayed at the Familia for a week in March '99. We were very happy there. Our room was small, but very clean, with a very nice bathroom. It was in the back of the hotel and was very quiet. The location was very convenient to restaurants and transportation. We would stay there again.

  • During the summer of 1998 I began my European vacation in Paris.I stayed at Familia Hotel for several days. Although the entire trip was exciting, no place offered the hospitality, service, and friendly atmosphere as did the staff at this lovely hotel. I have plans to return this winter. Keith Reese

  • I stayed here in '95. Eric and Sophie are terrific inn keepers, always ready to assist. The place is clean, just the charm I was looking for. I'm hoping to book there again this year.

  • My wife and I have stayed here twice since 1998. It is one of the best values in Paris given its location and price. The coffee could be stronger, now that Americans are used to good coffee, but the overall value is terrific. The rooms are just perfect, as you are never really in the room because you are in Paris. Eric is just great!

  • I stayed for several nights at the Familia in December 2001. It is a great place, very affordable, with a friendly, accomodating family ownership.

  • The staff was very accommodating. We had to leave the morning of Bastille Day at 5:00, and they had breakfast for us at 4:30. Normally, breakfast is served a few hours later. They called a cab and we arrived at the airport on time. We would go back there on a future trip.

  • My husband and I stayed at Familia in September 2002. We stayed in room #52 which is a balcony room facing the street and the very top peaks of Notre Dame. The room is ofcouse small as was the bathroom but having the balcony made all the difference. It was wonderful to sit out and have our breakfast and watch Paris come alive or sit out in the late evening after walking all day to have a night cap and watch the stars. The bed was comfortable but the wall are thin which we found all through Europe anyway. Room #51 and #53 would have the same view with balcony as well and likely are the same size. The location was perfect - close to everything. The staff were really helpful and very nice especially Marc and the ladies that serve breakfast in the morning. For the price you definitely cannot go wrong. Just don't expect a huge room and definitely get the balcony!!

  • I stayed at the Familia in November 2003 for a week. This is a very nice little hotel. The staff was very nice, the room small but pleasant, and the location was great. Enjoyed my stay very much and would recommend it.

  • My wife & I stayed at the Familia in April of '05, just as the USA Today article naming it as a value was published. Yes, the room is small (approx. 12 x 12), but the extra room given the balcony was appreciated. Breakfast was served in less than 5 minutes to the room, & is more reasonably priced than getting juice, coffee & a croissant across the street. Extremely helpful staff, even fixed our hair dryer on a Sunday afternoon. Only issue with the location is that it requires multiple train changes if you take the Metro -- suggest you take the RER at any opportunity.

  • Remarks above received through April 2008.
