What others have said about this hotel:

  • We had a very positive experience with this hotel! Very nice service. No problems at all.

  • In the fall of '96 stayed 2 nights here. Great location, breakfasts typically French and all in all A-OK. Had one bad night when desk clerk allowed some French drinkers to be in lobby, waking up everyone! Nice place but am searching for another nice place now.

  • As far as I am concerned, THE BEST hotel in Paris. Real French atmosphere, clean hotel, lobby, & rooms, and delightful personel. It's nice to be remembered as a repeat guest, even when your stays are a year or two apart!

  • Had a very pleasant stay here last month, (January '99). The hotel personnel are very accomodating and friendly. We were on the 4th floor, (5th for us Americans), and it was very quiet, even though we overlooked Avenue Victoria. Breakfast was very good, and reasonably priced considering what it would cost at a cafe or brasserie. Only problem I have with it, is that there don't appear to be any fire escapes, or fire sprinkler system. The escape plan appears to be the central staircase. In spite of that, due to the other pluses, I'd definitely return. The location is terrific...walking distance to almost everything, and if you can't walk to where you want to go, there are Metro stations within a block.

  • This is our favorite hotel in Paris! The staff is friendly and they remember you from one visit to the next. They speak English and are patient with my attempts to speak French. We come back here every year.

  • We liked the location, very nice patisserie around the corner, the room was small but had nice balcony widows, good bathroom.

  • This is a lovely hotel with a great location. Rooms are a bit small but beautifully decorated. My room, facing the front of the hotel, had a small balcony. Some guides warn about the Chatelet-Les Halles area, but I had no problems walking around after dark.

  • This is our favorite hotel in Paris, I recommend it to all my friends. Staff are friendly and helpful and the petit dejeuner is superb. Location can't be beat!

  • My wife and I just came back from France and Italy a couple of weeks ago and we stopped at the Britannique for a couple of days. In our opinion, the rooms are very small in comparison to the ones in America but...... they are anyways Excellent. They are very clean and comfortable and their decorations is really elegant. The girls and the gentleman working at the Lobby went always beyond their duty to satisfy us during our stay. Especially since they all speak at least 3 languages, which is alwasy a plus. The elevator is extremely small (only for two people) but very cute. In general the hotel has a very romantic atmosphere. The Breakfast Buffet is EXCELLENT and at a very affordable price. and the location. Olala...Magnific.. We couln't have found a better location. It's very close to musems, metro station, Notre Dame, and Rue de Rivoli. We highly recommend this hotel (If you don't want to spend too much money. And... We are planning to may be next year go back. Hope that this information be helpful to you.

  • Stayed May 2002. The hotel is ideally located near the metro and close to the Louvre and Notre Dame. The staff were very nice and spoke english. The breakfast was worth the 11 euros. We were on the ground floor (family room) which can be noisey if the window is left open. A nice view on Victoria Ave. is worth the noise. Always ask for a room facing the street. My sister had a single on the 6th floor facing the street and didn't hear a thing. The rooms are small( a single is truly for one person, and a family room is only about 10'x10'. But the bathrooms are great and the maids do an excellent job (don't forget to leave a euro on the pillow) Overall, we had no complaints and really would stay again.

  • Had a wonderful 10 days in this hotel the people were very helpful and attentive. We stay in the beginning of July 2003. My husband and a group went on business - wives joining them on the first leg of their trip, they were in France for one month. We were very pleased with the location and the cleaniness of the hotel. We are returning in February of 2004...husbands on business and this time we are bringing along our children...and plan on staying at this same hotel BECAUSE of the great experience that was had by ALL.

  • Remarks above received through April 2008.
