• I stayed at this hotel in January 1999. It was very inexpensive and thus very basic, but the location was fantastic- if you can get a room at the front of the hotel, you overlook Rue St Antoine and its great food shops. If on a budget, you could do alot worse!

• We stayed at the Herse D'or and had two rooms for two adults and two children. One room had a full bath, while the other room had neither. Location is great. The hotel is clean. The room with full bath and Tv was 50 euro and is probably one of greatest bargains in Paris. Smaller room was facing street are noisy at night. Don't be afraid to try the Herse to save a few euro. • Hotel was very unique with intersting decor. Facilities were good, staff were friendly, but speak very little English. All in all, very good location and very good value.

• My daughter and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris in the spring of 2002. There is NOTHING fancy at the Herse D'Or, but it is priced accordingly. Our stay here was just great and I'd come again except my knees don't want to experience the stairs (no lift). There is good coffee just down the street,a good fromagerie nearby. It's just a few blocks from the lovely Place des Vosges, really it's handy to everything. I definitely reccomend it to budget travelers who intend to spend more time out than in.

• Very nice hotel, clean and peaceful. The 2 managers are very very friendly and the hotel has a fantastic location in the heard of the Marais, close to Place des Vosges, Notre Dame, Louvre museum... I recommend it!!

• I stayed in this hotel for several nights in 1991. I only have good memories of this place. What I liked about it was - clean, quiet, comfortable accomodation. Also clean and comfortable dining area with good food at reasonable price. Also the 2 owners/managers were very friendly and obliging. I hope to go back again.
