Not bad, but really just a crash-pad.
Don't plan on spending a lot of time inside.
Nothing special, no personality, cheap for
the location, with all the basic ammenities.
Good location, just meets the minimum standards
of cleanliness (bring slippers to avoid sticky
carpets). Request a room in the back to avoid
the very loud rue St. Jacques.
Since 1995, hotel Diana is my home in Paris. My wife and I stayed there for three times. Everithing is near, safe and easy.
Fabulous hotel. Well priced. Fantastic location. Very comfortable.
In the summer of 2004 my husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, we live in the US, but got engaged 11 years ago in Paris. We stayed at Hotel Diana, and one star or more, this made no difference for us . We were happy in this hotel and loved watching the rooftops from the window. Sure is it small, but hey, why do you go to Paris if not to be out and about all day long.I still remember the great breakfast and the lady who back then ran it, a german lady with a deep accent. We are going back in 2004 and would not choose any other hotel than Diana. We have also recommended this hotel to other friends. We would not have it any other way than to go to Hotel Diana. This is a very emotional and romantic decision, but a lot of decisions are made that way in life. Enjoy!
This is one of the best kept secrtes in paris! Delightfully furnished rooms, a warm welcome and perfect location!
I first stayed at the Diana as a teenager, with my parents, in the 1970s. Mme Richard treated us so well
we felt like family not tourists. On one occasion it happened to be the anniversary of the liberation of Paris and we toasted the city with champagne. A lovely lady coping with much sadness at the time. My best wishes to her daughter.
I was just looking on the net to see if this hotel was still in existence. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Diana for I think 5 days in 1989. I remember speaking German to the owner and English to the daughter of the owner. The hotel was very clean and charming. We were having a wonderful vacation and the hotel was so nice we vowed to return on the next trip to Paris. Good location, very clean and pleasant rooms, reasonable prices, friendly staff. We have recommended this hotel to others. Would definitly return to this hotel.
I stayed at the Hotel Diana for 3 days or so in late July 2005 and it was a great deal. The room had a queen bed, private bath, AC and I believe I paid 65 euro per night. By contrast, I left Paris and came back several days later, and just because I wanted to stay in Montmartre, stayed at a hotel with NO AC, the size of a shoebox and payed more. Unless I want to stay at the Georges V, this is a perfect place in the perfect location, and I will plan on staying there again in the future.
I had a very nice stay here last summer. It was reasonably priced, centrally located as well as clean and comfortable. The room itself may have been small, but it did have a Queen size bed, TV, AC and private bath. It was quiet (I think I was facing the back of the building, so no street traffic). As someone below pointed out, it was perfect since I only spent my night sleeping there, was out and about most of the day. It fit my needs perfectly and I would recommend it to others.
