La Tour d'Argent
They seem to live from tourists which believe in all the legends they heard of
"La Tour". Unfortunately, it's better to believe in Santa Claus than in this
well-known restaurant. My roast duck had spend too much time in the oven and had
become dark-grey, the sauce was served with a thick couche de graisse. For
Desert: Some burned Crepes stuffed with apples. The price for this pleasure: about 750 FF

Time-travel to our gastronomic past: Specialities from grandfather Escoffiers
Cookbooks, nothing is specially interesting, but everything particularly
expensive. Good service, charming rooms in the style of the fifties.
Arpege
There are people who say that they had a good meal at L'Arpege. I don't belong
to them. Two disappointing diners, over-arrogant service, high prices and
sometimes bizarre stuff like "tomatoes filled with fruits, nuts and sugar". If
you like ice cool restaurants in the late-eighty's style and overpriced cuisine
(come and spent 300 Francs for a piece of calf's kidney) it's the place to go.
