I first saw this place in the mid-1970s when I travelled to Paris as a teenager - my first time
in the city on my own. It was a quiet day in August, and I walked into the garden in the middle of
the heat of the day. There were few other people about. My camera had Kodak's Plux X Pan black and white
film in it. I still have that negative to this very day.

The fontaines Richard Wallace are to be found throughout the city of Paris.
Not surprisingly, they were originally proposed by Sir Richard Wallace, an Englishman
in 1871, shortly after the uprising known as the Commune.
