A Short Description
This museum houses the private collection of the 19th century industrialist
Jules Marmottan and his son Paul. Upon the death of Paul Marmottan, the
collection, together with the his house, was left to the
Académie des Beaux-Arts.
Among the paintings are numerous works by Monet and other impressionists,
making for a collection second only to the
Musée d'Orsay.
