Paris, Friday, 1. December 1995, Radio FIP: "The latest about the traffic
situation on FIP; 8:01, The autoroutes: the Autoroute du Nord, 15 km to the
Porte de la Chapelle; autoroute A3:15 equally before the Porte de Bagnolet,
Autoroute A4 :15, 16, and even 17 km, before the Porte de Bercy; for the
Autoroute du Sud, if one includes the bridge, that makes altogether 22 km
before the capital, 22 km very very slow; A 15, 12 km until Gennevilliers;
Autoroute de l'Ouest before the Porte de St Cloud there is a good 20 km; on
the Autoroute A 115, 5 km before Franconville; Autoroute A12, that's to say
before the Autoroute de l'Ouest there is 6 difficult km between Bois d'Arcy
and Bailly.
If you are trying to escape the autoroutes by trying the
Nationales, frankly that is not a good choice, everything is blocked: the
Nationale 1, Nationale 6, the Nationale 7, the Nationale 118, with 6 ..eh..
plus 14, with a 20 km of slow-down before Velizy Villacoublay, no before
Sevres, you have understood, before Sevres, a good 20 km on the Nationale
118. Nationale 20 an equal success; the Nationale 13, I forgot to mention
just now; the Autoroute 86, you won't doubt it, already corked. In normal
times, oh la, it's a horror, the interior just as the exterior.
Once you
have arrived at Paris, 'when' you have arrived, there is on the interior 28
difficult kms, on the Peripherique Chapelle-Maillot, exterior, 6 km, St
Cloud-Orleans; and 23 km between the Porte de Gentilly and the Porte
Maillot. And finally, in Paris itself you are slowing down everywhere. The
Boulevards Marechals, to escape the Peripherique, there you are also doing
good: you are also blocked in the north as in the south. Quai de Bercy, of
course, on the side of the rue St Antoine to height of the Porte de
Bagnolet, the side of the axis of Chapelle to the south of Leclerc, the
avenue de Lille to the Pont d'Austerlitz; you are blocked everywhere.
