Paris, Thursday, 7. December 1995:- The air traffic controlers in the Paris
region have added a strike alert today to the existing strike alerts of Air
France and Air Inter. It means that the air traffic controlers may take
some form of strike action during the day, disturbing the schedules of
possible landings and departures, or they may not. Due to the amount of
various strikes alerts concerning air travel operations, travellers can
expect some delays. Aircraft normally passing through Paris' airspace will
probably be routed around it if possible, but this will possibly add to
flight times to other destinations.
'Boat buses'
'Boat buses' on the Seine service has increased by two extra lines,
extending further east and west. Out west, there are boats leaving the Pont
de Suresnes every 30 minutes from 7:00 to 19:00, that run to Solferino
(Museum d'Orsay) and out east, boats are leaving every 50 minutes from
Alfortville (Chinagora), from 7:00 to 19:00, and these run also to
Solferino. Additionally, there is a similar service on the Canal de
l'Ourcq, from 15:00 to 20:00, which runs from Les Pavillons sous Bois (Pont
de la Foret) into Paris, to place Stallingrad. Frequency not given for the
canal boats. All times given here are for the first and last departures,
from the ends of the lines.
Big Demonstration Today
Beginning on the left bank at 13:00 at the carrefour de l'Odeon, on the
boulevard St Germain. The demo is supposed to proceed to the boul. St
Michel, turn south and go straight up to the boul. Montparnasse, where it
will turn west, proceeding past the rue de Rennes to boul. des Invadides,
to finish up at 17:00 at the place du President Mithouard (Metro station St
Francois-Xavier).
