Sunrise in Ile-de-France this morning at 8:45 greets drivers
facing few "bouchons" (traffic jams).
As Temperatures Drop This Morning, RATP Buses and Metros Begin Carrying
Passengers Again

Paris, Friday, 15.December 1995:- It's not official, it's not sanctioned,
it's not believable, but this morning some trains, Metros, and buses are
running in Paris and its region, the Ile-de-France.
On the way to Marly at 8:40, I had to wait at the level crossing, for a
SNCF commuter train to pass. Radio FIP is reporting that line one of the
Metro is running, but with very few trains. Other lines are running as
well, but with few trains and irregular services. Supposedly 80 percent of
RATP buses are circulating. Line 'A' of the RER is supposed to be in
service, with a few trains. One TGV train made a run from Lille to Paris'
airport at Roissy this morning and this train is expected to make several
round-trips; although none into Paris center.
Radio FIP's traffic reports between 8:00 and 9:00 indicated that the
routes into Paris were blocked far less than usual, less than normal for a
non-strike Friday morning, on this, the 22nd day of the strikes. There is a
lot of traffic in Paris itself - as usual.
Airports may be difficult today as the air traffic controls have a strike
alert posted. Otherwise, this morning, the two of the three main public
employees unions, the CGT and FO, are still calling for a massive
demonstration in Paris tomorrow.
