Paris' Public Transport Almost Back to Normal
'Plan Bus' Stopped; Free Rides Continue

Flash Bulletin - Paris, Tuesday, 19. December 1995:-
Metro and Bus, RATP
- Except for lines 7, 8, and 12, all Metro lines are operating nearly normally
- Most buses are circulating normally, except a few operating from suburban centers.
- 'Plan Bus' has been suspended.
RER and SNCF Paris Suburban services
- Transit rate is 50% of normal for the whole network.
- RER 'A' - almost 100%
- RER 'B' - almost 100%
- RER 'C' - about 66%
- RER 'D' - from north to Chatelet only; from south-east to Gare de Lyon only
- Gare de Nord - 50% - no connection to RER 'B' and 'D'
- Gare St Lazare - almost 100%
- Montparnasse - about 50% plus connect to RER 'C' - about 66%
- Gare de Lyon - about 75%
SNCF, TGV Long Distance
- North of France: almost normal
- South of France: about 50% globally. Exceptions: Marseille, Montpellier and Limoges are still on strike, although Montpellier voted to return late yesterday.
La Poste
About 15 sorting centers are still on strike; about 120 are operating normally
Automobiles
Warning: Paris cops are handing out Parking Tickets again.
Airports
Paris region airports have returned to normal service.
Demonstration
Today at 17:00 - Starting at Place de la Republique with destination of the Hotel de Ville. The CGT union has also called for demonstrations in Versailles, Nanterre,
Boulogne-Billancourt, and various other Paris suburbs.
