Successes & Media Attention

There have been many successes over the past nearly 3 years. Some of these have been personal, some more directly connected with the project itself.

We are the only web/internet organization that the Office de Tourisme de Paris has ever agreed to collaborate with. This was a gesture which certainly energized everyone associated with the Paris Pages, made all the more poignant by the Atlantic Ocean seperating our two groups.

The ongoing rise in accesses is also a gratifying measure of whether we are doing anything interesting or not. The site is currently accessed roughly 6 - 7 million times per month, with roughly 500,000 unique sessions per month from over 90 domains. We attribute this to the passionate subject - the City of Paris - as well as the richness of the content, and above all our presentation.

The near real time reporting from Paris has also scored points in that when we have tried, we have gotten important information online about Paris more quickly than all the major news organizations (CNN, Reuters, etc). Les Pages de Paris / The Paris Pages was also the only web organization to be acredited to the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII in Paris on 8 May 1995.

There has also been the steady stream of French Classes and students from throughout the world who use the Paris Pages to get another glimpse at the City of Light. To be used in class instruction, and as an educational resource has been an unexpected reward, and lead to us creating a section French Classes of The World (http://www.paris.org/Classes/).

Over the years, there has also been a healthy amount of media attention paid to the site. Below is a list of some of the more major citations of which we are aware.
